Chemical Incident in Weitchpec

A new hazardous materials incident involving chemical has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.

Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:

RP advised that an inspector found concrete over the creek bank on the Yurok Tribe Reservation, possibly from cleaning out a cement truck over the hillside. There are sings that some of the concrete had eroded and been released into the creek. RP advised that the Yurok Tribe has jurisdiction on this area of the creek.
