Petroleum Incident in Unincorporated County Area Humboldt

A new hazardous materials incident involving petroleum has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.

According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near a road in Unincorporated county area Humboldt at around 3:55 p.m. today.

About one gallon of a substance described as “unk petroleum product” was released to the environment, according to the person who called in the report.

Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:

Release was due to a vehicle accident resulting in the release impacting a storm drain, release is stopped. Unknown who will conduct cleanup.

This was the second hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Unincorporated county area Humboldt area this year and the 58th petroleum spill in the county overall.
