Petroleum Incident in Unincorporated County Area Humboldt

A new hazardous materials incident involving petroleum has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.

According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near a public land in Unincorporated county area Humboldt at around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019.

Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:

PER NRC REPORT "CALLER REPORTS THIS COMPANY IS BURYING EMPTY BUTANE CANS, AND OTHER TRASH ON THIS PROPERTY. CALLER ALSO STATES THAT DIESEL FUEL IS BEING SPILLED ONTO THE GROUND FROM GENERATORS ON THE PROPERTY.

This was the first hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Unincorporated county area Humboldt area this year and the third petroleum spill in the county overall.
