Petroleum Incident in Trinidad
A new hazardous materials incident involving petroleum has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.
According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near merchant/business in Trinidad at around 8 a.m. today.
About 29 gallons of a substance described as “transformer oil (<1ppm pcb)” were released to the environment, according to the person who called in the report.
Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:
Caller states that an equipment failure on an overhead transformer resulted in the release of approximately 29 gallons of Transformer Oil (<1ppm PCB) to soil.
This was the second hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Trinidad area this year and the 30th petroleum spill in the county overall.
