Petroleum Incident in Trinidad

A new hazardous materials incident involving petroleum has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.

According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near waterways in Trinidad at around 5:45 a.m. today.

Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:

NRC Report states: "CALLER IS REPORTING VIA THIRD PARTY OF AN UNKNOWN SHEEN COMING FROM AN UNKNOWN VESSEL AT THE LOCATION PROVIDED IN TRINIDAD BAY."
REMEDIAL ACTIONS: "NOTIFIED TRINIDAD FIRE AND REQUEST THAT THEY INVESTIGATE, WILL NOTIFY SECTOR SAN FRANCISCO NEXT."
Release Secured: UNKNOWN

This was the third hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Trinidad area this year and the 38th petroleum spill in the county overall.
