Petroleum Incident in Redway

A new hazardous materials incident involving petroleum has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.

According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near a road in Redway at around 5:45 p.m. today.

About three gallons of a substance described as “hydraulic fluid” were released to the environment, according to the person who called in the report.

Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:

Caller states that a truck hauling a tractor on a trailer overturned resulting in the tractor locating itself into an adjacent creek. The tractor released approximately 3 gallons of hydraulic oil into the waterway prompting CHP to report the release.

This was the second hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Redway area this year and the 42nd petroleum spill in the county overall.
