Petroleum Incident in Willow Creek
A new hazardous materials incident involving petroleum has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.
According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near a road in Willow Creek at around 6:30 p.m. today.
About two gallons of a substance described as “mineral oil (non pcb)” were released to the environment, according to the person who called in the report.
Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:
Per Rp- Pad mount transformer had equipment failure, released Non PCB Mineral Oil into the pad mount transformer and into the soil around the transformer. No fire or other hazards related.
This was the second hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Willow Creek area this year and the 45th petroleum spill in the county overall.
