Petroleum Incident in Unincorporated County Area Humboldt

A new hazardous materials incident involving petroleum has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.

According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near a road in Unincorporated county area Humboldt at around 10:15 a.m. today.

Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:

PER NRC REPORT, "CALLER REPORTS THAT THERE WAS A DISCHARGE OF AN UNKNOWN OIL ONTO THE
PAVEMENT AND SOIL AT THE INCIDENT LOCATION. THE DISCHARGE WAS FROM
THE SADDLE TANK ON A TRACTOR TRAILER TRUCK THAT WAS HAULING SHEET
ROCK WHEN IT WAS PUNCTURED."

This was the second hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Unincorporated county area Humboldt area this year and the sixth petroleum spill in the county overall.
