Petroleum Incident in Rio Dell

A new hazardous materials incident involving petroleum has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.

According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near waterways in Rio Dell at around 2 p.m. today.

Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:

RP States: A private citizen reported a vehicle submerged in water in the Eel River. Unknown how the vehicle entered the water. The vehicle is about a mile up the river from Rio Dell, CA. The vehicle is described as a early 2000's Toyota Tacoma black in color.

This was the second hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Rio Dell area this year and the 30th petroleum spill in the county overall.
