Petroleum Incident in Eureka
A new hazardous materials incident involving petroleum has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.
According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near a road in Eureka at around 10:30 a.m. today.
Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:
RP states a driver lost control of a vehicle and went into the Kings Salmon slough due to human error. Vehicle has been recovered. Release has been stopped but not contained with waterways impacted.
This was the 19th hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Eureka area this year and the 42nd petroleum spill in the county overall.
