Petroleum Incident in Capetown
A new hazardous materials incident involving petroleum has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.
According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near waterways in Capetown at around 9:16 a.m. today.
Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:
Per NRC: "CALLER IS REPORTING THE DISCOVERY OF AN UNKNOWN SHEEN 5 MILES OFFSHORE OF CAPE MENDOCINO IN THE PACIFIC OCEAN."
This was the first hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Capetown area this year and the 43rd petroleum spill in the county overall.
