Incident in Trinidad

A new hazardous materials incident has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.

According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near waterways in Trinidad at around 1:15 p.m. today.

About one N/A of a substance described as “vessel, submerged” was released to the environment, according to the person who called in the report.

Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:

***Potential Release*** Per NRC #1309453, "Caller is reporting that a boat capsized off of the coast of California and then sank. The cause of the incident is unknown. Three people were rescued from the boat and taken to a hospital. No spills of any fuel or oil were observed at the time of the incident." ***Potential Release***

This was the first hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Trinidad area this year.
