Petroleum Incident in Willow Creek
A new hazardous materials incident involving petroleum has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.
According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near a utilities/substation in Willow Creek at around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:
RP states, due to mechanical failure, a padmount transformer released 8-10 gallons of non pcb mineral oil onto the concrete and dirt. Has been stopped and contained. No waterways. RP conducted the cleanup.
This was the fifth hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Willow Creek area this year and the 17th petroleum spill in the county overall.
