Petroleum Incident in Eureka

A new hazardous materials incident involving petroleum has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.

According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near waterways in Eureka at around 5:47 a.m. today.

Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:

RP States: A solo vehicle went into the water causing a mininal release of vehicle fluids on to the water. A contractor is enroute and is expected to arrived on scene in an hour to remove the vehicle out of the water.

This was the 11th hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Eureka area this year and the 29th petroleum spill in the county overall.
