Incident in Eureka
A new hazardous materials incident has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.
According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near merchant/business in Eureka at around 6:05 a.m. today.
About 20 gallons of a substance described as “milk - drinking type” were released to the environment, according to the person who called in the report.
Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:
While unloading a pallet tipped over causing the release, material flowed onto a concrete dock then went into a storm drain, approximately ten gallons entered the drain, contractor is handling the containment and clean up.
This was the 17th hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Eureka area this year.
