Sewage Incident in Eureka
A new hazardous materials incident involving sewage has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.
According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near a residence in Eureka at around 9:40 a.m. today.
About 200 gallons of sewage were released to the environment, according to the person who called in the report.

Reporting party states there is a overflowing manhole due to the storm event. The overflow has not stopped but it is contained.
This was the seventh hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Eureka area this year and the eighth sewage spill in the county overall.
