Petroleum Incident in Eureka
A new hazardous materials incident involving petroleum has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.
According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near merchant/business in Eureka at around 6 a.m. today.
Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:
A theft of fuel from a garbage trauck caused the release, material flowed onto concrete then went into a self contained drain stystem that leads to a retainment area of rock and soil, RP is handling the containment and clean up.
This was the ninth hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Eureka area this year and the 14th petroleum spill in the county overall.
