Petroleum Incident in Trinidad
A new hazardous materials incident involving petroleum has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.
According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near waterways in Trinidad at around 12:39 p.m. today.
Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:
RP stated that a unknown slick that was believed to be some type of fuel, with a odor was spotted in Trinidad Bay by a kayaker. The sheen was caused by an unknown source, no clean up notified.
This was the third hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Trinidad area this year and the 22nd petroleum spill in the county overall.
