Petroleum Incident in Eureka
A new hazardous materials incident involving petroleum has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.
According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near a ship/harbor/port in Eureka at around 10 a.m. today.
Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:
A moored 25' Pleasure Craft Vessel is partially submerged causing the release, material flowed directly into a waterway, RP has deployed booms and made contact with the owner, unknown who is performing clean up and recovery.
This was the 20th hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Eureka area this year and the 37th petroleum spill in the county overall.
