Petroleum Incident in Trinidad

A new hazardous materials incident involving petroleum has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.

According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near waterways in Trinidad at around 12:35 p.m. today.

Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:

Per NRC " CALLER REPORTS AN UNKNOWN RAINBOW SHEEN FROM AN UNKNOWN SOURCE IN THE PACIFIC OCEAN. IT WAS SPOTTED BY A USCG HELICOPTER DURING A ROUTINE PATROL.

This was the first hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Trinidad area this year and the fourth petroleum spill in the county overall.
