Petroleum Incident in Samoa
A new hazardous materials incident involving petroleum has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.
According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near waterways in Samoa at around 10:26 a.m. today.
Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:
Per the NRC report: Caller is reporting an unknown sheen from a n unknown source on Humboldt Bay at the incident location. Caller stated it could be coming from the nearby wood chip dock, but that is not confirmed. Remedial Actions: None.
This was the first hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Samoa area this year and the 17th petroleum spill in the county overall.
