Chemical Incident in Eureka
A new hazardous materials incident involving chemical has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.
According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near a residence in Eureka at around noon today.
Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:
Per NRC report: Caller is reporting they are dumping unknown chemicals onto the ground and it is affecting his property as well. Caller states there is also unknown chemical odors in the air at different times. This has been an ongoing issue for many years and it is affecting his pet dogs health as well by possible poisoning
This was the 11th hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Eureka area this year and the first chemical spill in the county overall.
