Petroleum Incident in Eureka
A new hazardous materials incident involving petroleum has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.
According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near waterways in Eureka at around 8:16 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10.
Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:
Per NRC Report: Caller is reporting a light, scattered sheen from an unknown source on "A" and "B" docks at the Woodley Island Marina in Eureka, CA. Remedial Actions: Staff on-site conducting clean-up of the sheen.
This was the 13th hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Eureka area this year and the 23rd petroleum spill in the county overall.
