Petroleum Incident in Myers Flat
A new hazardous materials incident involving petroleum has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.
According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near waterways in Myers Flat at around 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27.
Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:
Per reporting party: On 09/27/24 a vehicle went off the 2nd bridge into the creek and landed upside down. The vehicle was towed the next day on 09/28/24. As of today the creek looks black with a sheen that is about 10 ft wide 35 ft long.
This was the first hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Myers Flat area this year and the 37th petroleum spill in the county overall.
