Incident in Dinsmore

A new hazardous materials incident has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.

According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near waterways in Dinsmore at around noon on Sunday, Oct. 6.

Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:

Per the reporting party, an unknown material was observed which caused a white-colored sheen in Kuntz Creek near the location where the creek flows underneath Forest Service Road 1N10. The reporting party does not know where it originated from. The sheen was witnessed on 10/06/2024 1200 in the afternoon. The listed material is impacting the water and the rocks on the edge of the creek. There is no clean-up.

This was the first hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Dinsmore area this year.
