Incident in Fieldbrook
A new hazardous materials incident has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.
According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near a residence in .
About five gallons of a substance described as “vegetable oil” were released to the environment, according to the person who called in the report.
Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:
Per Reporting Party: An overhead transformer came down due to wind and rain. When it hit the ground it caused the release of 5 gallons of vegetable oil onto the soil. No waterways were impacted. The release has been stopped and contained. Cleanup is currently underway.
This was the first hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Fieldbrook area this year.
