Petroleum Incident in Orleans
A new hazardous materials incident involving petroleum has been reported to the California Office of Emergency Services.
According to a report published by the office, the incident took place at or near road, waterways in .
Here’s the description of the incident that was recorded by the Office of Emergency Services:
Per Reporting Party: the caller reported a vehicle 75% submerged in the Klamath River. Vehicle appeared to have no occupants. It can be seen from the North side of the Orleans bridge. Vehicle is leaking Gasoline and oil into the Klamath River. Spill is not stopped, not contained and water is impacted.
This was the first hazardous materials incident recorded by the Office of Emergency Services in the Orleans area this year and the 44th petroleum spill in the county overall.
