Status: Full Time and Permanent
Wage Range: $24.00/hr - $30.00/hr

Purpose: The Administrative Coordinator acts as the company Personnel Officer and is responsible for
human resources activities. They also administer company benefit programs and ensure compliance with
government regulatory agencies. Additional responsibilities include managing insurances, processing
claims, providing staff training opportunities, and conducting investigations.

Responsibilities:
1. HUMAN RESOURCES AND STAFF TRAINING
A. Responsible for employee recruitment, receiving applications, maintaining data base of all
applications and ensuring appropriate access to all department managers.
B. Maintain company personnel records. Update employee handbook, including personnel
policies, to be compliant with federal and state law at all times.
C. Oversee employee orientations, Sexual Harassment Prevention Training, Food Handler
Certifications, evaluations and exit interviews.
D. Provide training and support to management staff regarding resolution of minor issues
between staff members, evaluations, disciplinary actions, terminations and promotions.
2. RISK MANAGEMENT AND INSURANCES
A. Acts as lead staff member working with insurance providers for health insurance, property
and liability insurance and worker’s compensation.
B. Represents management in personnel-related hearings, insurance claims, government
compliance issues and conducts investigations of formal complaints as needed.
C. Acts as company Safety Officer and ensures proper safety training for staff and record
keeping of training activity.
3. BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
A. Administers health benefits, retirement program, unemployment and disability claims,
COBRA and workers compensation program.
B. Ensures compliance with federal, state, county and city regulations including but not limited
to Division of Labor Standards, CalOSHA, California Dept. of ABC, Humboldt County
Environmental Health and Humboldt Bay Fire.
C. Maintains current status of business licenses, fictitious name statements and certifications.
4. OTHER DUTIES
A. Work on special projects as assigned by the General Manager.
B. Represent the company as a spokesperson when requested by the General Manager

Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in Human Relations or similar position. Familiarity with California labor laws
and state and federal workplace regulations. Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, Google Workspace or
similar software platforms. Knowledge of grocery or natural foods systems. Bachelors degree preferred.
