Pay: Salaried position-DOE

Job Description: Oversee a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization offering programs and services to individuals living within the 95536 zip code area who are 62 years + or disabled. Promote and facilitate the foundational mission of the agency, which is to provide assistance to clients, so they remain independent as possible, aging with dignity, in their own home.

Major Areas of Responsibility: The Ferndale Senior Resource Agency (FSRA) Executive Director shall implement their leadership skills and experience to provide support in the promotion and advocacy of the FSRA mission, programs and services. The major areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, the following:

•Continued development and implementation of our mission, our vision, and our values.

•Continued management of existing operations and programs.

•Proactive planning and development of new programs and policies.

•Track and evaluate program performance, identifying areas of success and areas requiring improvement.

•Proactive in managing potential shortfalls by incorporating innovative and creative solutions.

•Establish a positive working relationship with FSRA paid staff and volunteers by providing job training and guidance when required.

•Forge positive relationships by interfacing with FSRA clients, benefactors, donors and the greater community.

•Provide support and direction to FSRA Board of Directors particularly in the areas of funding and planning.

•Proactive in establishing mutually beneficial partnerships through networking with similar agencies within Humboldt County.

•Actively participate in conferences, advocacy groups and training that would prove beneficial to the agency.


Qualifications:

•Must love supporting and working with people from diverse backgrounds. Exercising compassion and patience while working with seniors and disabled is a must.

•Excellent speaking, writing and listening skills are a must. Interfacing with the local community as a professional representative of the organization is required.

•A strong business sense coupled with strong organizational skills is a must. Fiscal accountability,

•maintaining a budget, maximizing resources, and actively seeking alternative financial resources is a must.

•Experience with safety and compliance requirements as it pertains to employees, seniors and disabled is desired.

•Professional experience in social work, social services, community-based health care, or a related field is desired but not required.

•Knowledge of what is required of a 501 (c) (3) is a plus.
