We are seeking a rare hybrid leader: A seasoned SERVICE MANAGER who still knows his way around a scan tool. In this role, you won’t just be managing schedules; you will be the technical linchpin of our shop, helping technicians navigate complex electrical and drivability issues. We are looking for the “Professor” of the shop…The person with practical knowledge who can oversee our team. This role is essential for maintaining the level of excellence at a shop with over 50 years in the business, and guiding a team of technicians to be sure the job is done right the first time.

Duties

- Manage a staff of motivated mechanics, providing the technical oversight to ensure timely and effective repairs
- Use advanced diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex systems on a wide variety of makes and models
- Oversee repair projects from start to finish to ensure the repair is completed to satisfaction
- Train and mentor junior technicians on best practices, safety procedures, and technical skills
- The ability to effectively give direction to staff and understand the task at hand to solve problems as they arise

Experience

- Proven experience as a MASTER TECHNICIAN with a strong focus on advanced diagnosis and completion of repairs
- Mastery of scan tools, lab scopes and interpreting live/freeze frame data.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and advanced safety features that are found on all makes and models
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to “getting in the solution”
- Relevant certifications or technical training in the automotive industry are a plus… ASE L1 etc.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with previous supervisory or lead roles preferred
