Job Title: Customer Service Specialist
Location: Wild Planet Foods, Inc. McKinleyville, CA
Hours: 40 hours/week, 12months/year
Wage: $20/hour or more depending on experience and other qualifications
Supervisor: Customer Service & Office Operations Manager
General Information:
• Full Time, 40 hours per week

Wild Planet is the fourth largest canned seafood company in the U.S. The company is mission-driven with the goal of both educating consumers in issues of ocean sustainability, and leading the seafood industry toward more sustainable harvest practices. The Customer Service Specialist plays a pivotal role at Wild Planet, as this person will serve as the first point of contact between the consumer and the company. He/she will work alongside a passionate group of professionals at the company’s headquarters in a spacious office building in McKinleyville, CA. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Interact with customers by phone, email, online social platforms, ecommerce platforms and sometimes in person.
• Resolve customer complaints, inquiries and comments in a timely manner with the goal of creating an unparalleled experience; our goal is to absolutely delight those who contact us.
• Serve as a role model for customer service communication and public relations interaction.
• Conduct research and consolidate findings.
• Assist leadership and co-workers with special projects and various duties as needed.
• Perform receptionist and administrative duties, approximately 10% of time.
Minimum Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED.
• Excellent communicator; must have great phone etiquette, strong written skills, be a top-notch listener and have a mind toward public relations.
• Enjoys talking to people, sometimes very patiently.
• Skilled at multi-tasking; must be highly organized & detail-oriented.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding of problems/conflicts and address them in a timely, level-headed manner.
• Quick learner who can work as an individual contributor and as part of a team.
• Relationship-focused high performer with a positive, “can do” attitude.
• Self-starter who is motivated to make a positive impact.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook; also operation of multi-line phone system, fax, copier, and printers.
Preferred Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a customer service role.
• Strong background in natural and organic food industry.
• Knowledge of canned seafood, or other industrial food production.
• Experience working with Quickbooks.
