The North Coast Redwoods District of California State Parks is accepting applications from people interested in working on a 15-person trail crew. The reporting location for this position is Prairie Creek State Park, 127011 Newton B. Drury Parkway, Orick, CA. The work locations are California State Parks throughout North Coast Redwoods.
The positions are for Senior Maintenance Aides that will be a crewmember on a 15 person crew. Salary is based on experience. Salary range starts at 14.49 per hour. Candidates should possess a valid California Driver’s License and have one year of experience in landscaping, construction, or trail work. Knowledge of general trail construction, awareness and sensitivity of trails designed for those with disabilities. Small-mechanized equipment experience as mechanized wheelbarrows and mini excavators are used on certain projects. Incumbent has; the ability and willingness to work and live in inclement weather walk/hike on uneven terrain, knowledge and understanding of safe work practices in a 15 person crew team environment. Strength and ability to perform the job, willingness to conform to Department uniform and grooming standards.
