Under the general supervision of the Prosecutor, performs a wide variety of investigative duties involving violations of the Yurok Tribal Code, state and federal offenses, cases arising out of Special Domestic Violence Jurisdiction, and Missing and Murdered Indigenous People. To conduct criminal and civil investigations for the Office of the Tribal Prosecutor; to analyze, summarize and submit findings of the investigations to the Prosecutor for the purpose of filing criminal and civil complaints; to prepare criminal and civil cases for hearings and trial; to interpret and explain the provisions of laws, rules and responsibilities as required. This position will work closely with the Yurok Tribal Police Department and other departments that refer cases to the Office of Tribal Prosecutor. This position will assist in the creation and operation of professional and community programs related to human trafficking, domestic violence, and other issues of high priority to the Yurok Tribal Court and the Office of the Tribal Prosecutor. The maintenance of training requirements mandated by the Police Officer Standards and Training Commission will be overseen by the Yurok Tribal Police Department. The investigator will maintain sworn officer status through Yurok Tribal Police Department and may be cross-deputized through either Humboldt or Del Norte Counties as appropriate.

Salary: $29.75-$38.81
