Brick by Brick is a one-woman show written and performed by actress and comedian Nina Rancel and directed by Miles Berman. Brick by Brick is a show about building the road to one’s dreams and how to get back on it when life throws you off, despite the magnitude of the obstacles and monsters one finds on the way.

A message from Nina:

“Brick by Brick is a simple set and concept, of course, but I’m ambitious and, honestly, I like doing too much. So, you’ll literally see me building the road to my dreams brick by brick, you’ll see me walk, crawl and run on the road and getting thrown off it. I’m doing stage combat, singing, playing the guitar on a treadmill, tap dancing, doing musical comedy and stand up…everything I’ve ever done and trained in,” says Nina. “I just love being an actor too much…unfortunately,” jokes Nina. “In my case, it’s too late to quit, so it’s a show about how to keep going despite everything,” says the actress and comedian.

“I feel like anyone who’s ever had a dream that seems impossible or anyone who’s creative or artistic will relate to this play. Artists are sent the same lesson over and over, until we learn it: being an artist is a journey—in my case the most important journey—and fame or money or success can’t be the destination,” she says and takes a beat to add: “However, I’ve already learned who I am in defeat and failure, so I keep walking this road everyday because I want to learn who I am in victory and success, too,” she laughs.
