___________________________
This year marks the centennial anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, perpetrated by the Ottoman Empire from 1915-1923. April 24th signifies the date in 1915 when Armenian intelligentsia in the Ottoman Empire were taken away from their families and killed.

Events to commemorate these atrocities and advocate for its official recognition (by Turkey, the United States and other nation-states) are taking place around the world. The Armenian Students’ Association of Humboldt State University would like to do the same in order to raise awareness in the North Coast of California.

Genocide is common in human history and similar events are occurring today. In order to prevent genocide, we must understand and acknowledge the ones that have already occurred. Join us on April 24th to commemorate the lives lost and to prevent the possibility of genocide in our world.
