2025 Trinity River Clean-Up

See Event Description

Save California Salmon, in partnership with the Hoopa Valley Tribe, youth groups, and the Warrior Institute, invites community members and media to join this year’s Trinity River Clean-Up and raft trip. This event is part of ongoing efforts to protect the health of the river for future generations. Volunteers will help remove trash and debris from key areas along the Trinity River, supporting water quality and the recovery of endangered salmon runs. Speakers will also discuss threats to the river, along with the importance of the river to local Tribes.
When: Saturday, July 26, 2025
Time: Begins at 9:00 AM
Schedule:
9:00 – 10:30 AM: Ground Clean-Up (meet at Hoopa Tribal Office)
11:00 AM: Rafting Clean-Up & Lunch
Where: Begins at the Hoopa Tribal Office, Hoopa, CA
Why: The Trinity River is one of California’s most vital salmon-bearing waterways, but decades of water diversions and habitat loss have endangered fish populations and impacted Tribal communities who depend on the river. This clean-up empowers local residents to take action for their watershed while uplifting Indigenous stewardship practices and community resilience.
Who: Organized by Save California Salmon, in collaboration with the Hoopa Valley Tribe, Hoopa Valley Tribal Police, Warrior Institute, Rios to Rivers, local volunteers and funded in part by Sierra Health Foundation’s Elevate Youth California Grant.
