23rd Annual Letter Carriers Food Drive
Saturday May Ninth will mark the twenty-third annual Letter Carriers Food Drive. Postal employees nationwide will be picking up donations of non-perishable foods and delivering them to local food banks. All residents of Humboldt County are being asked to participate and help “Stamp out Hunger.” Look for the blue donation bags in your mailbox the week leading up to the drive. Leave the bags filled with non-perishable food items by your mailbox Saturday, May Ninth and your Letter Carrier will do the rest, collecting donations and delivering them to Food for People’s Eureka location or to the food pantry in your community. All food collected stays in the community in which it was donated to help local individuals and families in need. Volunteers are also needed to help sort and box food donations on the day of the food drive. This is a perfect opportunity for families, youth groups, civic groups and others to lend a hand in your community.
