A Company of Voices: All Who Wander…
All Who Wander…A Musical Journey Across Cultures and Countries
“Not all those who wander are lost” (J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of The Ring, 1954)—and this fall, A Company of Voices invites you to wander with us. Our 25-voice ensemble sets out on a musical pilgrimage across the globe, from the folk traditions of North America and Scotland to the haunting beauty of the Philippines, Java, and Japan.Along the way, local professional instrumentalists join us for a tender Japanese lullaby for choir and piano and two Scottish folk songs woven together with violin, cello, piano, and vocal trios by none other than Ludwig von Beethoven.Inspired by Tolkien’s timeless line, this concert explores what it means to feel like a wanderer — and to discover, through song, that we are never truly lost.
Come open your ears to the mystery and beauty of the world’s musical landscapes!
