‘A Reason to Listen’ October Poetry Show
A Reason to Listen, Humboldt’s longest-running live poetry event, has moved to The Historic Eagle House Ballroom (139 2nd Street, Eureka). On October 8, we will be featuring local author Jeff Woodke, who will be doing a book release reading from his new book, All the Way Home, which describes how he was abducted in Niger by Al Qaeda and held hostage for six and a half years. Copies of his book will be available for purchase and signing. Cash, check, or Venmo for purchase of Jeff’s book. Special guests include DJ Goldylocks and Live Art with Dre Meza! The open mic is available to the public and sign-ups begin at 6:00pm. The show starts at 6:30pm. $7.00 cover (cash or Venmo only for the door).
