Afro-Brazilian Drumming Workshops

HLOC’s The Space

Direct from Brazil, Samba da Alegria Community Drummers will be hosting Mestre Adriana Portela, director of Banda Didá, the first all-women’s bloco in Salvador Bahia!

Her workshops emphasize not only learning popular rhythms, but also moving with your drum - to become unified with your body, mind and instrument. She is a legendary director, her workshops are one of a kind and not to be missed!

Drums provided, no experience necessary! Beginners and seasoned percussionists encouraged!

-Sun 6/7, 12-2pm

-$30 per workshop, or $80 for all. Student discounts available with ID.
