AfroBrazilian Dance Workshops with Kimberly Miguel Mullen

This uplifting and joyful dance experience will bring to life the infectious and vibrant culture of Brazil through the pulsating drum rhythms of Salvador, Bahia led by the local Samba Alegria Drummers. Dancers will discover the limitless feeling of power, speed and grace. There is no experience necessary. All fitness and skill levels are welcome in the spirit of learning and having fun.

ABOUT KIMBERLY:
Classically trained folkloric dance artist and cultural ethnologist Kimberly Miguel Mullen contributes to a legacy of performers from the Caribbean, Cuba and Brazil. Her dance practice is rooted in ritual dance expressions from AfroCaribbean/AfroBrazilian religious systems of deities called the Orichas/Orixas. Through her online virtual dance platform and through her ongoing innovative performances, in-depth workshops, and retreats, Mullen expands the reach of African diasporic forms.
