AFS Welcomes Semester Students from around the World

Arcata High School library

AFS USA has been hosting International high school exchange students in Humboldt County for many years. These students live with volunteer host families and attend local high schools. Recently schools from Fortuna and Ferndale to the South, Hoopa Valley High to the East plus Arcata and McKinleyville to the North have hosted one or more students. These students volunteer in the community, participate in sports and theater programs, plus give presentations about their countries in local elementary and high schools.
In January additional students will arrive for the Spring semester of high school and a few of the current students will have different host families for their second semester of high school.
