Alternatives Festival
Please join us in partnership with the Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services for a day & evening of art, crafting, puppets, tabling & live music, in observance of Mental Health May and to further bring awareness to the issue of youth prescription opioid abuse in our area. Various local service providers and community groups will be on hand to talk about what they can offer as healthy alternatives. Tabling by the following organizations: - Hcteen Court - Redwood Discovery Museum - The RAVEN Project - SCRAP Humboldt Art posters from the Photo Voice project of youth perspectives on alcohol and other drug use. 4:30-6:30: Troy M. Lescher - Puppeteer who will perform the show It Could Always Be Worse (best suited for children age 3 – 9) 7:00-7:30: Ruby Langdon - AHS student with sweet ukulele tunes.https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWQErUU7-yzBStYKwTqrnhQ/featured 7:45-8:15: Spectrum - RCM music students covering the classics, ranging from Led Zeppelin to Queen. 8:30 - 9:00: 4 The Masses - Arcata music collective. https://soundcloud.com/user-192379233 Cheese pizza will be provided.
