An Armchair Safari

Samoa Cook House

Two Humboldt County organizations will benefit from a fund raiser in October in which a contributor receives a professional photograph of their dog. Photographer Jack Hopkins of Eureka is donating his time and talent to photograph your dog in his studio for $95. Donations will be split between the Sequoia Humane Society and Redwood Art Association. Dog owners get an 8x10 print of the photograph. They also may buy other sizes or packages from Hopkins. RAA president Martha Haynes said, “I am pleased to pair our themed show about dogs, with a fund-raising effort that will help the Sequoia Humane Society.” The photos will be taken from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. from Oct. 9 to13. Reservations and payment will be handled by Sequoia Humane Society, To reserve a time, phone 442-1782. Additional reservations will be taken at Arts Alive from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 7 at the RAA Gallery, 6t03 F. St. Eureka. Hopkins is an active member of RAA as is Nancy Flemming, Executive Director of the Sequoia Humane Society.
