Antoinette Magyar: People, Places and Things

Umpqua Bank

The Upstairs Gallery at Umpqua Bank is pleased to announce a solo exhibition by gallery curator Antoinette Magyar entitled “People, Places and Things.” Magyar is an avid Plein Air, still life and portrait painter originally from Visalia, California and now residing in Trinidad, California. Magyar will be presenting new work, alongside some oldies but goodies. When asked what her subject matter is, she keeps it simple: “I paint nouns.” Her first memory as a child was of a painting; a tree painted by her mother. From this influential artistic upbringing, Magyar always knew that art was her path. She expresses her love of light in not just acrylics on canvas, but through jewelry and interior design as well. The opening reception will be during Arts! Arcata on Friday, Oct. 11th, between 6:00 and 9:00 p.m at Umpqua Bank, 1063 G St., Arcata. There will be a second reception around Halloween, date and time to be announced.
