Arcata Commercial Cannabis Regulations Meeting

The City of Arcata hosts a community meeting to discuss the proposed regulations and licensing for commercial cannabis activity permits on Monday, February 22, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Arcata City Council Chamber, 736 F Street, in Arcata. Anyone interested in commercial cannabis, residents and neighbors of the Arcata Medical Marijuana Innovation Zone, and anyone interested in commercial cannabis manufacturing is encouraged to attend this public meeting. This is a chance to learn and give feedback about the proposed application and operation requirements, inventory tracking, sustainability practices, permits and fees. City Manager Karen Diemer, Community Development Department Director Larry Oetker and City Attorney Nancy Diamond will be at the meeting and will be available to answer questions and gather suggestions and concerns. The Arcata City Council will take up the City’s proposed medical marijuana regulatory program again at its 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 2 meeting. Information gathered at Monday’s community meeting will inform the Council’s discussion and decision making at the March meeting.
