Art Openings: Art on the Fence and The Village Arcata Playhouse 1251 9th Street Arcata, CA 95521 Friday, June 10, 2016 - 6-9pm Refreshments will be served Art on the Fence and The Village installations are opening on Friday, June 10, 6-9pm at the Arcata Playhouse. Twelve local artists and students from three local schools have created pieces for these exhibits. Art on the Fence is shown on the fences at 9th and L Streets, along the Rails With Trials Bicycle Path, in the Creamery District of Arcata. The Art on the Fence installation will dress up the chain-link fences and create a sense of place in the Creamery District. Local artists were given a 4’ by 6’ sheet of plywood and paid through grant funds to create their piece. The Village is displayed at the Arcata Playhouse and at the 9th and L Street location of Art on the Fence. Artists were paid through grant funds to create a piece that represents what a village means to them. Refreshments will be served on Friday, June 10, from 6 to 9pm at the Arcata Playhouse, 1251 9th Street, Arcata.
