Stokes, Hamer, Kaufman & Kirk, LLP
When: Friday, April 11, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Where: Stokes, Hamer, Kaufman & Kirk, LLP, 381 Bayside Road, Arcata (near Union and 7th Streets – 7th Street becomes Bayside Road heading toward Sunny Brae). This is a wonderful venue for art — plenty of parking, surrounded by the forest. Music: We are thrilled to once again feature the Bohemian stylings of singer/songwriter, Cynthia Brando (with special guest Alysia Gibbs on violin). Cynthia has been writing songs for many years and is currently residing in Los Angeles to pursue professional songwriting. She continues to grow as an artist, exploring new arenas in her music and is currently working on new recordings in the Southern California area and performing at such venues as the House of Blues. www.cynthiabrando.com Artists: Howdy Emerson (Oil Landscapes). Howdy previously held the Artist in Residence position at Westhaven Center for the Arts, where studio space there allowed him to create larger paintings of his favorite subject, the Humboldt Coast. Howdy is a member of the Trinidad Art Gallery - a co-operative gallery, where he rents studio space, and he is also a member of Redwood Art Association. He was recently awarded an Honorable Mention for “Silver Sea.” Cheryl Peterson Rau (Watercolors). Cheryl is a landscape painter, who favors creating her art on the site or En plein air. Cheryl says, “I feel that I am in good company when I am out on the bay or out in my garden with my brushes, paper and paint … these are the times when I am most likely lose track of time and become wrapped up the spirit of my subject.” More: Plus wine, food and fun! This month, all donations for wine benefit the American Cancer Society—Relay for Life Team #169. Contact: Chris Hamer for information (707) 822-1771
