Become a Volunteer with Arcata Fire
Come to a free “Information Night” from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 28th, at the downtown Arcata fire station, 631 9th Street. Talk with career and volunteer employees of the Arcata Fire Protection District about becoming a volunteer firefighter or a member of the new Volunteer Logistics Unit, which was established for civilians to support firefighting operations. The District pays all selection and training costs; a three-year commitment of monthly service is required. Applications are due September 5. More information at www.arcatafire.org or call 825-2000.
