Becoming - A Womxn’s Art Exhibition, with a Humboldt WOAH dance party

Kick off Playhouse Arts’ annual zero to fierce festival with an art exhibition by local female artists! Titled “Becoming,” the exhibition celebrates the personal, collective, and transformative journeys of women. The exhibition hopes to feature a range of mediums, from painting to photography, sculpture, sewing, and more. Each offering their own interpretation of what it means to become—whether through reclaiming space, celebrating heritage, confronting societal expectations, or simply existing as a woman in the world.

In collaboration with Playhouse Arts, W.O.A.H. (Women on Air in Humboldt) is kicking off this year’s women’s festival with a party! Come out to the Arcata Playhouse and dance to hand selected tracks from our communities favorite DJ’s and on air personalities. There will be drinks, snacks, and an art exhibition in the front room at the same time. The event will take place on Friday February 28th at the Arcata Playhouse and promises to set the stage for an exciting week of music, art, and theater dedicated to honoring women in the arts.

This exciting event will be the first of many highlights during Zero to Fierce, which includes panel discussions, live music and theater performances, art exhibitions, and more, all focused on celebrating women’s contributions to our culture and society.
